Local Business Owners Contend With Phased Re-Opening In Mass. During Coronavirus Pandemic

Curb-side pick-up for retail stores across Massachusetts will be allowed again starting Monday. However, some local businesses still feel they are in limbo as they try to figure out how to use an option that doesn’t fit their traditional business model.

Meanwhile, in-store shopping is still at least three weeks away as officials continue to monitor public health outcomes during the coronavirus pandemic.

To discuss, Jim Braude was joined by Dana Katz, the owner of the menswear store Miltons, and Harold Tubman, co-owner of Circle Furniture. Both men said they were ready to welcome customers back into their stores once allowed.

"We are ready to go as soon as the governor says go. We're anxious and can't wait to open our doors again," Katz said.

"We're ready," Tubman agreed. "We've upgrade all the sanitation in the store — plenty of hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, antyhing that anybody could want."
